My Malaguti Madison S250 (2003) top speed is only 100km/h
I don't know why. I have new rollers and belt.
I want to know what is the problem with my Madison
Can you help me? Any ideas?

probably the problem is a hole on the diaphragm of carburettor it's very common
on the madison.. -

- And which is the right model?
Here in Finland we don't have many Malaguti and all the parts have to order from other countries.
My Malaguti lived previously in Italy where there was two owners. Last summer it was shipped to Finland and I bought it
Otherwise Madison is working perfectly. Only the top speed with original variator is too low.
Here are some revs I have measured
Is there rev limiter in 7800rpm? I think there is. Because it starts to break ignition when I go as fast as I can with original variator. When there is 7800rpm and 100km/h it starts to break ignition and does not accelerate anymore.
But with J.Costa variator I got top speed about 120km/h. Which should be more like 130-145km/h
When Costa variator reach top speed, revs are about 6000rpm in my Madison. With original variator it just cant go faster because of revs.
Weird that revs raise so high. They shouldn't. I want it to run normally next summer. Just like you guys said. Something like 125-130km/h with original variator.
So any help is good.. -

i don't know if there is a rev limiter at 7800 cause i have a madison 250 rs that have piaggio's engine.
But if starts to break ignition probably there is.
Maybe original variator have not the original rollers
I read on the service manual that original roller Weight it's 14 g
and the diameter it's 20 mm (limit 19.5mm).
If you can reach 7800 rpm probably the problem isn't the diaphragm
but check it otherwise.

What is top revs you have in Madison s250?
I can't get higher revs than 7800. And top speed is then 100km/h.. -

Ciao a tutti, anche io sono un neo- possessore del Maddy S250 del 2000 e come velocità max mi fa 110km/h...un pò pochini vero?!?! Quale potrebbe essere il problema? Come è fatta questo diaframma del carburatore e dove si trova? io che modo verifico le condizioni o lo rimuovo?

I just checked diaphragm and it was ok. I installed J.Costa variator with 16gr bullets and polini fixed front pulley. Then i got 132km/h with givi 47l top box on.
Revs are still too hight. I noticed that my clutch pads were under min. I ordered new clutch. But I think this is fast enough to me

ciao a tutti anche a me è successo che il mio malaguti 250 s del 2001 faceva solo i 100 KM orari ho sostituito la frizione ,adesso fa i 130 KM orari così ho risolto il problema
